Battery Life/Replacements
Battery Type: Silver Oxide
No charging necessary. Battery lasts 1-2 years depending on usage. We track your battery automatically and let you know (via email and text) before it's time to get a replacement. Replacements are just $89 - keep the same style or swap to a new one. -

Technology
All Flare bracelets come equipped with a discreet technology module attached to the underside of the bracelet - sitting between the top of the wrist and the jewelry so it's not easy to activate accidentally. Each bracelet works with the Get Flare iOS app using Bluetooth Low Energy. Connect each bracelet to your account in the app once and never worry about pairing again.
Activate Flare by pressing the hidden button on the side of the module. No need to touch your phone. -
Device Requirements
The Flare bracelet is compatible with all iOS devices. Flare is currently unavailable on Android. To set up and use your Flare bracelet, you must install the Get Flare app on an iOS device.
Requires wifi or cellular service on your cell phone. Bluetooth connection with location settings permission must be enabled. -
Bluetooth Range
Your iPhone, with the Get Flare iOS app, needs to be within bluetooth range of the bracelet in order for the signal to go out.
Flare works 100% of the time at a range of 10 feet between the bracelet and mobile device, for example your phone may be in a bag on the other side of a room or across a vehicle. It can work up to 30-50ft away depending on the surroundings, including from different rooms. We recommend testing the range in your home environment to get a feel for it yourself because bluetooth ranges vary depending on your physical surroundings and obstacles.

Sizing
Cuff: Our cuffs are adjustable so you can bend them to find the perfect fit. We recommend this style for smaller wrists up to 6" in circumference.
Beaded: Our beaded bracelets come on a stretchy elastic cord. Small beaded bracelets (14 beads) fit best on wrists with a circumference of less than 6". Large beaded bracelets (17 beads) fit best on wrists with a circumference of more than 6". We recommend the large size for most wrists. -
Durability
Our bracelets are designed for every-day wear and have been rigorously tested for durability, including drop testing, water testing, and temperature testing. We recommend that you treat it like you would any other piece of jewelry or electronics.

International Usage
The Flare bracelet is able to send text message alerts to your Crew and share your GPS location. It will also be able to initiate a pre-recorded phone call.
Contacting 9-1-1 is only available in the United States.
Your phone must be connected to cellular data and have a US number for the Flare bracelet to send out alerts or call you. -
Water Resistance
Flare is water-resistant, not waterproof. You can wear Flare like any other jewelry and not worry if it gets a little wet. Rain or small splashes of water are fine, but please do not wear Flare in the shower, bath, pool, or ocean.

Does Flare work with all smartphones?
At the moment, the Flare app is only available for iPhone. Our small team is working around the clock to get better safety to those who need it, including our Android users. In the meantime, you can sign up for the Android waitlist here.

What happens when the battery runs out?
We’ll get in touch with you via email or text before your battery runs out! When the times comes, you can purchase a replacement bracelet at a discounted price of $89 (and even have the option to pick a different style if you like).

What happens if I press the button by accident?
Due to the location of the button on the bracelet, it's unlikely that you would hit it by accident. That being said, if it happens, it's perfectly fine. False alarms are 100% OK! If you have enabled 911, you will have a chance to stop the alert via text or call before emergency responders are contacted. Our partner’s advanced technology, analytics, and certified agents stop more than 99% of false alarms before contacting the nearest PSAP (Public-Safety Answering Point).
If the situation works itself out, there is no harm in using Flare because it does not escalate situations and no one but you will know what’s happening. Unlike other “solutions”, Flare puts you in control and helps you get out without endangering yourself. -

Each Flare bracelet is $129. There are no hidden or monthly fees. The battery lasts 1-2 years, depending on usage, and you can purchase a discounted replacement bracelet for just $89 - keep the same style or upgrade to a new one.

How long will it take to receive my order?
For regular orders, please allow 5-10 business days for your order to be processed and fulfilled. Once it has been packed up at our fulfillment facility, your bracelet will typically require 3-5 business days for delivery.
Pre-orders will be filled in the order they were received as the product comes in from the factory. This process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on our inventory at that time. We thank you for you patience as we work to fill demand!
