It practically comes naturally: walking with a group to the bus stop, debriefing with friends in a crowded club bathroom, texting someone as soon as we get home. In fact, it’s a routine so ingrained, we hardly think about it at all.

This is #SafetyInNumbers. Safety is connecting, supporting and protecting each other.  It’s time we celebrate that. But not without acknowledging how this constant need for protection affects all of us. It’s a massive responsibility (and burden) that demands an equally massive effort – one that we work towards every day.

In 2020, hate crimes in America reached their highest levels in over a decade. A staggering 47% of transgender people and 34% of Native American women are survivors of rape.  1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced sexual violence. And 24.4 million Americans have been stalked in their lifetime. 

100% of proceeds from this cozy sweatshirt goes to the Trans Defense Fund LA, a mutual aid group that was created in response to the disproportionate violence that trans women face. For every two sweatshirts purchased we are able to donate 1 complete safety kit to someone in the Trans Defense Fund LA community.
